Hi y'all! I'm installing an entirely new sound system in my '95 Rio Grande edition. I've got two amps to mount, one of which I was hoping to fit snugly atop the heater box.

What do y'all think? There's a load of free real estate, given that I figure out how to pop out that little connector sat square in the middle of my prospective mounting point. Is it safe to drill into? If not, do y'all know of any other good places for a ~6"x6"x2" box to reside beneath the dash? Heater isn't working right now anyways, so I'm definitely going to be coming back to it sometime. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank y'all!

Industrial duty velcro. Other than that once the heater works again the amp is gonna get mighty hot on top of the heater box. Ive learned 2 things about electronics. First is they dont like heat and the other is their all built full of stinky smoke, ya just have to find the proper way to let it out ;)
