I have a 92 Renegade HO that had a 4L, FI engine put in in 98. The engine is a 93.
It had a battery leak in the middle 2 cells so I replaced the battery. Now the battery won't charge and the check engine light is not on. Only code it throws is 33 (AC Clutch) which, makes sense since the AC is aftermarket.
I've changed the alternator, belt, ECM & am left with a 4 wire hookup to the field of the alternator.
Its got a + & - bus bar and each one has a ground on them to the alternator.
I'm only getting 10.7 VDC to the field and 11.3 VDC out of the alternator.
My core ECM tested out fine by the parts people.
I'm stumped!
