Hello All,
I'm a new member here but have already been learning a lot from these forums. I have a new to me 87 Wrangler that runs, but runs rough. It is roughest at idle. I searched around for suggestions and I've looked for unplugged vacuum lines (not many the Nutter Bypass looks to have been done), set the timing advance at 8 degrees (it wasn't too far out from that), so now I'm looking at the carburetor. I believe it to be a reproduction Carter BBD (without the stepper motor - sans Nutter). Any ideas where to begin with the carburetor? I'm thinking if it's rough at idle, the idle circuit may be dirty. I thought I might pull out the idle jets, or venturi and clean that up. Or, is this carburetor just crap and I should get a Weber or Motorcraft 2150? I'm a fix try and fix it before I buy something new guy most of the time.
Thanks,
Chad
