If you're using the ECM from the V8 engine, it may need to be programmed or configured to handle the 700R4 transmission properly. This includes the torque converter clutch lockup signals, which are usually controlled by the ECM based on vehicle speed and load. Some V8 swaps might require an aftermarket transmission controller to manage the TCC if the stock ECM doesn’t have provisions for it.

- Are you using the stock ECM from the donor vehicle or a standalone unit?
- What kind of transmission adapter or conversion kit are you using (if any)?
- Are you planning to control the TCC manually with a switch or through the ECM/standalone controller?
- Does the vehicle have a dedicated TCC controller or are you relying on the stock ECM (if applicable)?
