Does the engine side of the bellhousing match up between the 2.5 and 4.2?

I have a 1994 with a 2.5L 4cyl with a bad transmission, I also have a 1989 4.2 transmission (I think it's a Peugeot BA-10) complete with transfer case and bell housing. Would this make sense to put on the 1994 2.5L and is significant modification required? Picture is of what I believe is...
