Not to necro an old thread, but this is incorrect. First, you could get an Islander with either engine, the 4 or the 6, and you could even option an automatic if you wanted to. Second, the Islander package was available until 93, thus all 6-cylinder islanders from 91-93 were the 4.0 HO.

It wasn't just a standard spray-in bed liner. It was thick and soft and spongy. I imagine it would insulate against noise and temperature quite well.
