Where is my O2 sensor?

Hello everyone,
I own a 1990 YJ 2.5 TBI.
Imported to Europe by Renault and I believe made in Canada.
I recently failed the CO2 test, so I purchased a lambda sensor (O2 sensor) to replace the old one. I was surprised to find a nut where the original one should be. I've attached a photo.
The previous owner assures me he hasn't made any modifications.
Is there a possibility that this particular model doesn't have a sensor?
Could anyone tell me where to look?

I can't tell you much about an export YJ as far as emissions go. Either your YJ didn't come with an O2 sensor (which is possible since it's an export) or someone removed it at some point in which case you'll find a harness for it somewhere if you look around.

But a new sensor does no good if there's no place to connect the wires to. Do you see an unused plug hanging down on the left side?

I don't know anything about the 2.4 TBI system as my 92 has 4 injectors.

according to AL overview, the 92 imported wranglers had to meet the 1976 us emission standards. if they are correct, there has to be a connection somewhere on that wrangler. keep us informed on what you find. good luck.

i miss read the question/ import and export, so my information may be wrong/sorry.

Have to assume the car was imported without an oxygen sensor.
So I have to focus on reducing CO2.
Any ideas?
I've checked the 1990 FSM and there's nothing related to this case.

While testing with a gas meter, I realized that by releasing the vacuum line, I was able to significantly reduce the CO2.
Does this make sense to anyone?
