New to this forum and new to Jeep wrangler community. I have a 1990 Wrangler, owned for 7 years now and everything is wrong with this jeep. Previous owner basically did everything backwards for example, lifted but kept stock shocks, swapped out carburetor for a knock off Motorcraft without and markings or ID, installed seat belts backwards? The list goes on, but I've been getting her back in shape.

lately I've noticed something on the inside of my driver side wheel. I believe the oil splatter or whatever it s happen when I go into 4 wheel drive. Not 100% sure on that, but like 90% sure its when 4x4 is engaged. Anyone know about this mystery to me?

Inner Axle seal......Fixing to do both of mine.....If you get into it, Make sure that the vent is unobstructed.
Pretty sure I over looked that when I rebuilt it and mine went to leaking.

Does it smell pretty bad? I'm guessing gear oil leaking out of the axle seal.
thx. I haven't noticed a smell. I had that seal changed probably 4 years ago, and they screwed it up luckily it was under warrantee so they redid it. shop is a high end (meaning they are pricey) Jeep shop did the work and I don't use them any longer and hearing this is disappointing
