Nice to find this place.
I bought my 89 YJ 14 years ago after looking at Jeeps enviously for a long time, didn't know much about the models but I had a good sense of identifying a solid engine/transmission etc.
Gradually fixed up the issues from the previous owner, drove it cross country less than 2 years later, and got my first taste offroading in the trails of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. Done my share of Jamborees (often I'm the oldest driven-in Jeep there). There are some nicely developed off road areas about 2 hr from my home, so I get to play fairly often through the year.
All the while it was also my daily driver (300 mi/week) until I retired this year (I'm 70). 130K miles when I got it, over 360K now.
Also have a CJ2A and a ZJ Grand Cherokee.
