Fuel injection to carburetor conversion

Not my first choice either, but engine bay fire and 2 failed used replacement wiring harnesses later (you can't buy a new aftermarket) I'm looking at options plus I know carburetors inside and out.

Can't help much there. Probably the reverse of switching the 4.2 to MPFI using the Mopar kit.

That or building your own setup. At least probably need the intake from a 4.2?

I think I'd be more inclined to determine what is causing your harnesses to burn up and fix that myself.

Don't know anyone that's done it, but to go computer free, you'd need carb, old school HEI distributor, and coil. I wouldn't go as far back as a points distributor.

I'd suggest checking the CJ forums.

If you did go with points, you'd have the apocalypse ready YJ.

Hi, I have the 1989 YJ and recently April 2025, had the EFI replaced with a Weber Carb. A few teething problems but she drives and she hasnt done that since Jan 24 after an ECU quit on me, so that's a massive improvement. Needed a special plate built but the mechanic built that and the carb sits where the EFI module sat.

Try looking at Clifford performance. With their intake and carb or carbs if you decide to go with the duel carb setup, you can fashion your own wiring harness from scratch.
