Does anyone know why my engine / exhaust is “spitting out” black water and smoke, and sticking on my driveway? It starts easy (89 yj), then runs rough until at 180 degrees, then runs great. But when stopping and restarting it starts hard!
I am running 3.5 psi on fuel, and 11 degrees BTDC!
HELP!!

Condensation is pretty normal out the tail pipe. If your not running long enough to burn off the moisture this is what happens. Damp weather contributes etc. My truck did this on the wifes car and she was non to happy, made me park on the drive way :0. On the other hand it could be a blown head gasket sending coolant into the exhaust. Thats up to you to diagnose. 11 degrees may be a tad to much causing early ignition and basically fighting the pistons upward travel. IIRC something like 6 btdc is factory timing. Might try 9 or so. I also believe you should be running a 195 thermostat which will make the engine run at normal op temps so it goes into closed loop etc.
