They're off-set to reduce fan noise.Does anyone on the Forum know why the cooling fan blades for either the 2.5L or 4.2L are offset?
Interesting, I have never heard that before. Mine is still loud AF though, lol. They're off-set to reduce fan noise.
Just think how much louder it would be if they weren't offset.Interesting, I have never heard that before. Mine is still loud AF though, lol.
Once had an aftermarket fan that wasn't off-set, and at certain engine speeds it sounded like a small aircraft.Just think how much louder it would be if they weren't offset.
My previous ranger and my Frontier both have plastic blade clutch fans, and they have equal spacing between them all, so no offset. Can’t say they’re noticeably louder than the Jeep due to their Fan blade design, really all 3 vehicles sound like hurricanes. Maybe if the trucks had metal blade fans, they’d be louder than than the Jeep though? No idea. Really doesn’t matter to me, if I can hear it, I know it’s coolingOnce had an aftermarket fan that wasn't off-set, and at certain engine speeds it sounded like a small aircraft.
Something to do with harmonics.
And, IMHO, why TSLs make their own brand of Music, though Boggers tendeth toward Heavy Metal.Same holds true for street tire treads with variable size rubber treads to cut back on harmonic road noise.
