I have a 87 YJ 4.2L with the BA10 5 speed transmission. The clutch is making noise when I depress the clutch. So I bought a clutch kit.

Everything looks correct with what I removed but the pilot bearing pressed into the flywheel is larger than the one I got in the kit (or what's left of the original bearing... There are no rollers left in it)

so, do I drill out what's left of the original bearing and press the new one in or do I have to get a larger bearing all together? The plate fits onto the nicely onto the shaft of the transmission and the pilot bearing fits onto the end of the shaft. It's the OD if the new bearing that's not right. What do you suggest?

are you sure it the right clutch kit.? i would talk with the company where you purchased and explain. if not get a pilot bearing puller and do you checking on bearing size. from the picture it look like you may have some fly wheel concerns?

I bought a transmission rebuild kit and one of the roller bearings was the wrong size. They sent a replacement but I too was not good. I found a NOS (New Old Stock) bearing on ebay which fit perfectly.

Your original looks like a bushing, not a bearing. You sure your new bearing isn't the same OD as what looks to be the bushing in the photos?

according to Summitt, clutch # 361675, has a bushing/pilot set up, the bearing that you have should fit inside the bushing that already there. Summitt also list two other bearing depending on what yr model and transmission of wrangler. hope this help.
