Hi everybody: Just got one AX15 tranny and need its manufacturing date to order correct repair kit. The number embossed under the case is totally illegible, seems tranny was transported over a metal surface. Is there any other way to identify this transmission. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is the best I've come up with...you might be out of Schlitz on this. The build date of the vehicle it came from may get you in the ballpark though. Engine/transmission/vehicle build dates are usually pretty close together

Did they list it for a TJ or a YJ? I can tell it's not out of an XJ. Any pics of the transfer case behind it? I'm assuming you got them together as a pair.

That's a great question...I can see some numbers just to the right of the t-case yoke in the third picture.

Never mind, it’s a TJ transmission because of the shifter. YJ has the straight shifter base, TJ uses the curved base. So it’s a 97-99. I don’t think anything changed in that year range, so you’re probably good to buy something for that time frame.

Hi. Got this tranny with transfer case but seems it is not its original t-case. Can see the following number on tranny left near the t- case: 00802748. Those are the only numbers found on it. Does this number bring some light? Thank you.

the transmission is out of a TJ based on its shifter.

How specific of a year do you need to know? I don't think they changed at all from 1997-1999.

Macho...just want to make sure I order the right synchros...there is a lot of debris gold-like small particles in tranny oil. Can you advise on what vendor/part number? Thank you.

I have no idea what part number you need. I just know that based on the shifter, you have a transmission from a 97-99 TJ.

Transmission assembly part number:
1997 - 52108118
1998 & 1999 - 52108118AB
