I just connected the 4.2L engine in my 1989 YJ to my AX15 transmission, and when lowering it onto the front mounts the new bushings won't align with the mount holes.
The bushings are approximately 3/4 inch back (toward the firewall) from the mounts. I am not sure what the problem is, and need some advice. Haven't checked the transmission mount to see if it is broken, and the transmission got pushed back during the engine to transmission mating. I had the engine out and in a couple of months ago, and it lined up fine with no problems, so reinstalling it now, I don't know what changed.
I could really use some advice on how to get the engine over the the front motor mounts Thank you.,
