Hi all, my throttle cable has about 1.5 to 2 inches of play. i e in the engine bay I can push down, or tug the cable almost two inches before it pulls the linkage on the carb to make the engine rev. It also means the gas pedal is floppy. Its always been that way but now I have a carb installed...

Brilliant, she starts after a fashion but unless i keep the revs up she stalls every time. Thought she might be empty but she now has a full tank and still stalls as soon as i take her out of gear. She seems fine at 2000rpm in gear, but any lower and she falters and snags etc.

The filter has done about 200 miles. Is it normal to have those little perforations ? What causes that? Thanks.

Ah, OK, that's good then. Finally something actually reads correct haha. Now if I could just get the fuel gauge to show at least a sign of life. It used to! Not brilliant but at least it showed some gas in the tank. Got about $60 in there and not a jot! Like a Steely Dan song...

OK that makes sense. When I do manage to fire her up she runs like a dog and the pressure needle only goes about a quarter way up. When she ran sweet, it sat at half way and then surged up a bit when I drove her faster. Now I can't even get her 6ft off the drive.

I'll have to do something. I put another 3 gallons in today, makes it 6 gallons in the tank and the needle is still only just moving from the stop bar. Should be at least quarter of a tank showing.

Is it easy to shorten the overflow tube?

Seriously! Which genius decided to put a French ECU in an American icon, build it in Canada, ship it to Germany and then it ends up with me in the UK, and I can't find the replacements! The world has gone crazy I tells ya! CRAZY!!😉
