    Wheel spacers

Hi all I'd like to give my JP Jeep a bit more of a 'wider wheeled' look. I know, I know it-s a Jeep not a lowered Honda but I quite like the look of a little more tyre out the arch. Any advice on safe sizes or effects it might have on handling or stress. I'll never off road it afain and stick...

    Notchy Gear Box

Hi all Been having fun in my rejuvenated 2.5l YJ (busted EFI is out, shiny new Carb is in) and putting down some nice mileage and she is doing great so far. I have noted that she sometimes feels 'notchy' when changing gear. Clutch is smooth as butter. No clangs or scrapes or grinding etc. Just...

Wow! That's bonkers! I have a little 8inch boxed sub with a built in amp kicking out an earth shattering ... 120watts RMS haha. That things must make your roof flap! That amp is huge!. Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of mounting a 'hidden' bass speaker in the boxy bit up and behind above the...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Hi YTradio, ill probably start looking into a genuine weber carb soon. I can't seem to find a picture or advice on my particular clone version. Apparently it's from a VW camper van website as they work on YJs with a slight mod to make them fit direct to the intake. I did what you and other have...

Here's one for you sound hounds! I have a Jurassic Park Jeep and I have two small hidden car speakers for playing the score and sound effects and dialogue from JP93. I want to add a hidden external passive sub or bass speaker to give it that extra and much needed low down 'grunt!'...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Up date. Fiddled with the low idle and high idle and the mixture screw and for now she is running steady and stays on when I fire her up. Not totally sure what I did , started from scratch and just tuned screws around until she ran smoothly. I need a lesson in carb tuning. I think the screw...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Also, with the choke on fully, this is as far shut as my plates go. Is that right as I thought they should be almost totally closed when the manual choke is engaged??

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Hi all. Got round to work on the fixes and spotted this brown stain in the carb. Never seen it before. Put my finger underneath and it was slightly wet and is definitely petrol. Do I tighten that bolt up? Is it leaking from above and down to that bolt because there is similar brown residue in...

    Help identifying this connector

I could be way off base here but I had the same thing but missing the blue bit and I was told it was for A/C which my YJ does not have, it's factory fitted and basically surplus. Long since chopped off and wires terminated.

    YJ dimmer switch

For the dimmer, could you not tape the dial in full position so it's always at max and then unmiunt the whole dial and secure it up behind the dashboard out of sight and then it's there fully working if you ever needed to sell the Jeep and put it back? Just a suggestion. I've done similar stuff...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

@Chris Wow that's a helpful reply with a tonne of stuff to check over. I'll have to do my homework on what a float bowl is haha and how to figure out the Jets etc and then I'll start rooting around and see what can be done. Great stuff and thanks for the guidance and I'll post my progress. (I...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Just to add we are having an unusually hot summer over here with temps regularly up in the late 20s which is phenomenal for our island! Does ambient heat play a factor? I've put heat shielding around my fuel line as it comes to the pump and up to the carb and have a directional custom made air...

Weber carb plays up after long steady drive

Hi all. I had my EFi taken out of my 1989 2.5 4cyl and a Weber lookalike Carb put it. After about two months of fiddling around and tweaking to what I thought was perfection I now have this problem... I drive 110 miles at approx 60mph for about 2.5 hours. Drives beautifully, better than ever...

    Fuel injection to carburetor conversion

Hi, can anyone tell me why my carbed 2.5 runs fine for an hour, steady 56mph speed, then when I drop down a gear or come to a stop, she dies?

    What's this called?

You're spot on Chief, the 4WD light is indeed on the bezel. I always wondered what the gauge was for on other YJs. Thanks. (My 4WD was not working when i bought it in '22 and only this April a mechanic fixed it and did some stuff with vacuums etc. The light came on when he put it in 4WD. Blue as...

    What's this called?

Hi Christian, interestingly, my YJ was built for the EU market and its first owner was in North Germany. It was brought over to the UK in 2001.
