I recently removed the Peugeot transmission and bought an (used) AX15 to replace it. The transmission is in very good condition for it's age, but is missing the bellhousing "Rubber" isolator grommet that protects the hydraulic lines exiting from the internal slave cylinder. Would anyone know where I can purchase on?? I have checked everywhere, and can't find one. Thank you

Do you have one or two lines coming out the hole in the bell housing?

I have two lines coming through the Bellhousing, and can't find the grommet for them. I received the Novak Conversion yesterday, with the intention of installing an external slave cylinder, but am sending it back today. It was missing the slave cylinder and a couple of other parts. Additionally, their instructions are written for career transmission mechanics, and not for hobbyists!!! They have FIVE confusing installation options, none of which allow you to just install the damn thing! I'm frustrated, because they use terms I am not familiar with, and don't explain. I guess I will have to settle for an internal slave cylinder. Their "External" is definitely NOT "straight forward", or simple to install", and at a price of almost $800!!!
I would appreciate any help on that rubber (isolator) grommet. Thanks

Buy the parts for a factory external conversion. It’s quite simple. I know what all you need to buy.

How long/ difficult would y'all say it takes to do the external swap on the AX15 for a DIY mechanic? I already swapped in a used ax15 from these guys https://reman-transmission.com/transmission-codes/?code=AX15 for my 93 YJ but realized soon after I should've just ordered a 94+ trans and swapped it in instead
Not much longer than a clutch swap. the only things extra to "do" are to remove the old and install the new front trans bearing retainer, and swap the bellhousing. the rest is just simple adaptation with stock parts like setting up the clutch fork and the slave cylinder/master cylinder assembly. That's all quick bolt on stuff that shouldn't really take any time.

The only bad part of the external swap really is buying the parts. There are several 1-200 dollar items so it can get expensive unless you really wait for a deal. I would budget around 800 bucks to do it. $200 bellhousing, $150 clutch, $150 hydraulic assembly, $100 bearing retainer, And 150-200 for the odd and end parts. I am overestimating it some. It shouldn't really cost that much but that would give some buffer for the budget.

Hi all,
I am in the same situation, in search of a solution to replace the illusive Bell housing insulator.
Is there an insulator to purchase vice the swap out as suggested in the thread? Thanx so much..

They are unobtainium. Been driving mine for decades without it.
Hi,
So, what is your fix to keep the two lines from slapping around and damaging the lines and.. the noise the reverbs while RPM is at the shift point for each gear, pot hole and...

Can you please attach a pic of your solution? Much appreciated, ✌️

No fix, the 2 lines are just sticking out of the bellhousing. I've had the Jeep since 93. Don't know how long the insulator has been missing, but at least 20 yrs.
