I don't own a Jeep, but a friend of mine owns a YJ and asked me if I could reproduce the tailpipe hanger clamp(Mopar part # 52003427) for him. I had a hard time even finding a picture of one, but I was able to make one using the Mopar parts drawing and the other half of the hanger that he was able to purchase (Mopar part # 52003426). I made a few extras to sell on eBay to anyone else who needed the part and it turned out that a lot of people need them.

A few months later, I got a request for the other half of the hanger and found that they were no longer available for sale anywhere. I was able to produce a similar part, but with relief cuts for bending, since I don't have a huge press in my garage. Pictured below is the full assembly that I produce.

I have a couple of parts in the prototype/testing phase that I'm waiting for some feedback on. Those being the muffler hanger and the hanger that attched to the catalytic converter. Both have been modified to fit the capabilities that I have in my small garage workshop.

I am open to trying to reproduce other parts as well, as long as they are not too large or complex for me to be able to do in my shop. Please send me a private message with any requests.

I will probably be listing the tailpipe hanger parts in the for sale section and any other parts after they are tested.

Nice!! I was not sure what was missing from my 91 until a was under a friends 91. One off the T case??, one that protruded rearward from the skid with 2 rubber isolators and a round bar with the ends to hold the isolators from slipping off and the last at the tail pipe which I have. BTW, your welds are immaculate!!

Real nice work. You might do well making transmission mount plates. The plate that bolts to the transmission, and then the transmission mount mounts to it. That is the same plate that supports the isolator that supports the cat.

Talking about this one

Mopar Transmission Mount Bracket

Mopar 52003925

Those brackets pop up on eBay now and then but they are pretty rare. People doing transmission swaps often need them. Some of them don't realize that part even exists and rig up a hackjob solution, or they can't find the part and rig up another solution. They also sometimes crack when the engine mounts die and the trans mount takes the brunt, which cracks the plate. So, sometimes people need a replacement even without doing a swap of any kind.

Don't know how big of an audience those would have, but maybe a decent amount. Just a thought.

I'd be willing to give it a try, if I could get my hands on one for measurements.

Did you finish the catalytic converter bracket? Thanks
I sent one out for testing and the report back was that I was 1.5" off on one of the dimensions. I don't think I could have been that far off, so I assume his jeep had some sort of lift that caused the discrepancy. I would be willing to make one for you, if you could provide some measurements or a broken one that I could use for dimensions.

My Jeep is far from standard I'm afraid. Looks like it has a 2.5" - 3" Body Lift and heaven knows what the suspension lift is. I'll have a look at it and if I need something I'll let you know. Thanks

dsaul, how can I purchase the cat hanger?

I still have not been able to get anyone to provide me with the necessary dimensions that I need to make sure it will fit. I need to confirm the bolt spacing between the bolts on the exhaust flange and the pipe diameter. I also need the horizontal distance and drop from the lower flange bolt to the center of the rubber "c" slot.

I'd be happy to make one and send it to you for free, if you can provide those dimensions.

As you can imagine, the material for the bolts no longer exists. I'll have to try and mockup the hanger for fitment and get back with you.

I need the distance between those bolt holes(center to center). The distance from the lower bolt hole over to the centerline of the piece on the lower right and how much lower is the top of the piece on the lower right from the center of the bottom bolt hole.

I'm fairly sure my original attempt was close to correct, but the person that I sent it to said it was off by 1.5" . I believe that his Jeep must have had a lift that moved the exhaust 1.5" higher than the stock location, but I can't confirm that.

I can make another copy of my original design, if you want to test it and see if it fits.

Well, this is what I can share with you but remember, there is no material left for where the bolt holes were. The part in the picture looks like an original part. The distance between the two holes (C-C) is 2.5". I believe that the lower hole is 3/4" - 7/8" from the vertical section where the vice grips are to the center of the hole (left to right). The center of lower hole is approximately 1" up from the bottom of the horizontal plate (outside bottom). When you say the distance from the lower hole over to the piece on the lower right of the picture, you are speaking of the "half" pipe bracket the goes into the rubber isolator? I can't give you that measurement, but I could provide you with the distance from the bottom end (far left) of the plate to the center of the half pipe. On another note, can you make the tailpipe hanger? Went to take mine off last Friday and it turned into a pile of rust.

Wow! I think I got what I need from the picture I posted. I just needed to confirm the bolt hole spacing to scale the picture properly.

Is this the tailpipe hanger you are looking for? I have several of those ready to ship. $50 + shipping. I can make a Cat hanger from the dimensions I have and ship it to you along with the Tailpipe hanger.

I also have these muffler hangers for $30, if you need one of those

The muffler hanger is the only one that was solid, so I don't need that one. I would like to purchase the tailpipe and cat hangers. Please let me know how I can complete the transaction.

Absolutely. And I would also like to purchase the tailpipe hanger and need to know how to go about doing so.

I was able to repair Gman's old Catalytic converter hanger by cutting off the old top section and welding on a new one. If you have one with a damaged top section, I can repair it for you. Message me and we'll work out the details. I'm still working on making a new one for those that don't have an old one in repairable condition.

I have added a 20 ton press to my shop and made a fixture to bend the tailpipe hanger without relief cuts, so it looks more like the original part. Original part is on the right and the new version of the reproduction is on the left. Same price, better looking part.

Hello, are you still reproducing parts? The last picture you have there is the one I can't find anywhere (Jeep YJ part 52002743), which holds the catalytic converter in place. I have pics of my old part if that helps. Thanks-Mark
