I have a 1990 Jeep Wrangler Automatic that is having some issues. It was doing just fine until I took it in to have some wheel spacers put on. It was up on a lift a couple of weeks while we were waiting for the parts to come in and on the drive how it was bellowing smoke out the back of the jeep because transmission fluid was leaking onto the exhaust. It also feels like it won't shift past 2nd gear in these situations as well. I've tightened up the fluid pan and it continues to be an issue. When I get up to 40mph it starts leaking and loss of power. Any suggestions would be helpful. Absolutely no issues prior to this and I was told the transmission was redone about 5000 miles ago. Any help is appreciated!!

Shifting problem might be related to lack of pressure in valve body due to leak....If it's leaking on the exhaust, And I'm guessing....
It might be the front seal coming out of the weep hole and falling on the cross-over...Can you pull the cover and shine a light up on
the input shaft? If it's leaking there you'll see it.........

A couple of weeks for wheel spacers?
Was this a reputable shop?
Sounds to me like you have been taken for a ride.

A K-Mart Super Center in Denver once tried it with my mom.
Took my Dads' J20 in for a clutch, while she was waiting to pick it up a grease monkey presented her a trans pan with filings in it.
Mom immediately recognized an auto-trans pan and the kid was subsequently fired, got the clutch for free too.

Must be doing one lug nut per day, don't want to get too tired!
