I’m looking to upgrade my front factory Dana 30 three piece 27 spline axle system, to a two piece RCV 30 spline inner, 27 spline outer and ARB locker. I’ve already re-geared to 4:10s.
My question to you guys is inner axle seals? I believe Dana 30/44 30 spline inner axle seals will work, however I’m seeing a few issues online regarding the passenger side seal bed being a different size. Is this only true in regards to the stock 27 spline axle requiring a different size then driver’s side?
Has anyone else completed a conversion like this? I used the search engine however it didn’t yield any results.

1993 Jeep YJ, 4.0, AX-15.

Thank you.

You need the TJ rubicon Dana 44 axle seal for the left side of the diff. I have no clue what you need for the right size diff because usually the axle shafts are supposed to come with it. That side of the diff is not machined for a seal. On 27 spline shafts you can use the Napa 11800 seal which you just hammer into the tube and it works. The larger 30 spline shafts nearly always come with a seal that does the same thing but fits the larger diameter axle shaft. I have no clue what part number that seal is, it is very rarely if ever discussed.
