It’s the 1990 6 cyl 4.2. “Everything” includes the ignition control module, coil, distributor cap, rotor and pickup. Different ECM as well. I get .60 volts on the orange and purple wires from the ICM to the distributor, and when i nutter bypass. Any clues?

I really am stuck. It sparks a little before and after i turn the ignition. No spark while cranking. Just a little when i stop cranking. New everything but the ignition switch. im stuck. Any help would be great.

If you have a carb motor 4.2 there is no crank position Sensor, as I have learned. Do a nutter bypass. Check YouTube on how to do it. Coil might be on its last legs if you hadn’t changed it. I’ve fought this battle for a while. I changed the ECM and it just made the same problem different. If I...

I’m dealing with the same thing. Same motor and same carb etc. One thing I haven’t checked yet is the crank position sensor. Not sure why i can’t just bypass these things and turn it into a CJ basically. I changed the ECM. Same issue. Try the sensors. That is next for me.
