4.2 header exhaust leak (what size bolt do I need?)

Since I’ve owned this 4.2 it’s had an exhaust leak and I believe I found it. A bolt is missing from the exhaust. Pictured here is the header and the missing nut. Its located Where the exhaust attaches to the header. I can see some sort of bolt still in there but it is not attached completely to...

    1989 interior gauge light issue.

I cut the auto selector light socket out to see if it was shorting. I have my gauge cluster out and I pulled a led out and I am measuring around 7v but no leds are lighting at all. I tired measuring voltage at the fuse and I get nothing, but if I pull the fuse I get 0 volts where I tested 7v. I...

    1989 interior gauge light issue.

I replaced my gauge lights with leds recently and all my lights worked fine. The bulb for the automatic selector was working but stopped working. If I wiggled the light It would come back on. I was doing that and the bulb socket sparked and all my interior gauge lights went out. I checked the...

    Matching YJ color?

Here is where is says PA4 on my plate so that has to be it. I’m seeing some online for sale with that paint code but are around $40 for a spray can. Is there some way to find an exact match through this paint code? Or am I just going to have to match it by sight. I am only I’m trying to spray...

    Matching YJ color?

Well I'd imagine it is. If that is the colors available for 1989 wranglers then mine has to be that color. I am pretty sure it hasn't been repainted. I think the paint code sticker used to be inside the jeeps interior but its been bedlined so I doubt I could find it. I am trying to find some...

    Matching YJ color?

I have a 1989 4.2 and I am sure my color is this PA4 silver metallic. I am looking for what the modern replacement would be. I have been looking up the code from the photo and have found nothing. Thanks for the help!

    Gear selection bulb

Yeah I believe the manual says the bulb for the "auto trans. indicator lamp #1445". It doesn't seem to match, #37 would probably be the closet, is that the same as in the e brake indicator? The bulb was working before I took the cover off but now it isn't working. I haven't pulled it out yet...

    Gear selection bulb

I was switching my dash lights and I thought the bulb for the gear selector would be the same... it isn’t. So whatever bulb it is I’d appreciate the advice! Also with the bulb for the climate control I do not know the size for.

    89 4.2 auto general questions

I posted a few months ago but I now have some questions about my carb and possible oil burning issue. My carb on my 4.2 is what I believe is a weber 32/36 with a manual choke. I am unsure on where I should set my idle speed, Idle screw, and mixture screw. I do not know if I need my jets...

    Possible carb vacuum leak

Yeah I will certainly be checking up on the plugs and oil when I get the time to put miles on it. I’ll call the shop up and ask about the repairs. When I get more info or find something else I’ll report back. Thanks for the help so far!

    Possible carb vacuum leak

I was confused on why this one was like that and the others weren’t. The engine was low on oil so maybe the engine is burning oil but I don’t know how to tell for sure. I already cleaned the plugs and I’m going to put new plugs in as I said before. The plug looked like the examples of oil...

    Possible carb vacuum leak

I haven’t worked on the Jeep for awhile but I wanted to send this picture of one of the plugs. This is to me is the worst one of them all. I’m assuming this is oil and isn’t a good sign of the engine. One or two other plugs had the white ashy build up which if my research is right is also oil...

    Possible carb vacuum leak

Where would I find the correct settings for the idle and mixture screw? I was seeing 1.5 turns for idle and 2 for mixture screw. Those weren't specifically for the 4.2 and the installation manual has even more vague instructions.
